After an accident

Your after-an-accident checklist.

Know before you sign

Three things worth understanding early.

01 · Document organizer

Keep a clear record.

A clear record can make it easier to understand how the incident affected your health, work, finances, and daily life.

02 · Insurance communications

Slow down before you agree.

Insurance companies may ask for information quickly. Before agreeing to a recorded statement, broad medical authorization, or settlement, make sure you understand what is being requested and how it may affect the claim.

03 · Diminished value

Repaired is not the same as whole.

A repaired vehicle may still be worth less after an accident. Diminished value depends on the vehicle, damage history, repairs, insurance coverage, and applicable law.
